Kala Chana Ke Kebab

Traditionally I have only made Kala Chana veggie but this was used in making kebab in Master Chef India season 2. It clicked me to use it to make kebabs too, though the recipe on the show was cumbersome.

Ingredients:
1cup Kala Chana
2tsp Besan
1small onion
1-2garlic cloves grated
½ tsp ginger –chilli paste
1tsp coriander powder
½tsp red chilli powder
½tsp amchur
½tsp garam masala
Lemonjuice
Salt

Method:
  1. Soak kala chana overnight.
  2. Pressure cooker the kala chana. (You will have to mash the chana so make sure it thoroughly cooked.)
  3. After the chana is cooked drain the water and mash it with a masher or you can make a paste in the blender.
  4. In a bowl, mix besan, finely chopped onions, grated garlic, ginger-chilli paste, coriander powder, red chilli powder, amchur, garam masala, lemon juice and salt.
  5. Mix the mashed kala chana with the besan paste. If the mixture too dry add a small spoon of yoghurt or water.
  6. Roll these in small balls
  7. In a pan add oil and cook these kebab’s on both sides until golden brown.

Serve hot with coriander-mint chutney or yoghurt dips.
