Tomato Cucumber Raita (yoghurt dipping sauce)


Yoghurt goes with most the dishes, but it gets very monotonous having the same stuff over and over again.
This tomato cucumber raita with a little twist gives a very distinct flavor.

Ingredients:
6-8 tsp Yoghurt
1 Tomato
 ½ Cucumber
Dry red chilli
Cumin seeds
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
Oil
Curry leaves
Salt

Method:
  1. In a pan heat oil add mustard and cumin seeds and red chilli (dried).
  2. When the seeds crack add chopped tomato’s and stir
  3. Add the cooked tomato’s mixture in a blender and make a puree
  4. In a bowl beat the yoghurt, add salt and the tomato puree mixture followed by finely chopped cucumber.
  5. In a small pan heat oil and add urad dal and curry leaves. Add this to the yoghurt.
 Serve cold. This tastes great with any rice and any paratha.
