Hyderabadi Toast
As a kid my mom always made this dish and every time I would ask her why it is called “Hyderabadi toast” and she said it probably was originated in Hyderabad. Well I don’t think anyone really knows the real reason behind this name, but all we can do is enjoy this amazing dish which can be served as a snack or dinner.
Ingredients:
Potato’s
Onions
Oil
Cumin powder
Coriander powder
Chili powder
Turmeric powder
Garlic powder
Garam masala
Lemon juice
Ginger
Salt
Sweet chutney
Green chutney
Garlic chutney
Sev
Corriander
Method:
1. Boil potato's and chop them into cube size pieces.
2. In a pan heat oil and add chopped onions. Once the onions turn golden brown add the potato cubes and mix on a low flame.
3. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, garlic powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, ginger, lemon juice and salt to taste.
4. Stir the mixture until the masala has blended well
5. Take wheat/ brown bread slice and cut it into halves diagonally.
6. Place the potato-onion mixture on a bread slice.
7. Heat the griddle and add oil and place the toast with the mixture on the griddle for few minutes making it a little crispy.
8. Once cooked add sweet chutney, green chutney and garlic chutney on the toast.
9. Garnish with coriander, onions and sev.
10. Serve hot with chutneys or ketchup.
